BIOGRAPHY
Trained at the Conservatoire de Danse du Luxembourg, Giovanni Zazzera continued his training in contemporary and classical dance in Brazil where he worked for various companies "Cia. Ama de Amarildo Casiano, Cia. Fernando Lima" and will deepen his experiences by doing various internships and training abroad (Paris, New York and Tel-Aviv.
Since 2010 he regularly performs on the foreign and Luxembourgish scene working for various projects and companies. In 2013, he received the Prix de Danse du Luxembourg and signed his first creation entitled "IF I..." which will be presented at the 3CL-centre de création chorégraphique du luxembourg (LU), at the E-motional Rethinking Dance festival in Bacau (RO), as well as at the L.O.F.T for the LuxFestival in Leipzig (DE).
Other pieces will follow such as "SECRETS", "QUAND LE SILENCE PARLE" and "FLOWERS GROW EVEN IN THE SAND", presented at TanzMainz Festival (DE), Barnes Crossing Köln 2016 (DE), Théâtre Transversale de Verdun (FR), Téâtre Juarez Machado de Joinville (Brazil), Théâtre d'Esch, Abbaye de Neumünster, 3CL, Mierscher Kulturhaus MKH, Cercle Cite (LU) and many more.
In 2019, he created his first big creation with 5 dancers "UNTIL YOU FALL", presented at the MKH and the Theatre of Esch, and he continues to work on larger creations by signing in 2021 the creation "OUT OF RANGE", created a collaboration with the choreographer Saeed Hani, presented at the MKH as well as at the ARENA of Trier (DE).
Giovanni will often be asked to collaborate in different projects as a choreographer and in the choreographic direction for pieces such as "ART.13 "2019, Cie Eddi Van Tsui, "Fenrir de riese Wollef" 2018, Cie Koplabunz, "Lass uns Verschwinden" 2021, for the Kasten Theater in Feuchtwangen (DE), as well as "Choreochroma" 2022, collective LUCODA and presented at ESCH22 as well as at NOVI SAD22 (SRB).
Currently, he is working on two new creations "CREDERE", a choreographic trilogy that gives birth to the Solo "NEGARE", Duo (di)SPERARE & Trio CREDERE, and "CHUUUT(e)", a new creation for young audiences to be presented in the 2022/23 season in Luxembourg and abroad.
Active in the cultural field, he is engaged as a member of ASPRO, an engaged artist of the company KOPLABUNZ, and is one of the founders of the collective "LUCODA_Luxembourg Collective of Dance". In 2020 he created his own Company, Z Art Dance.

His multidisciplinary artistic approach focuses on the trust of the body, guided by its inherent energy where images, movements, and emotions appear. Fascinated by the complexity of the human being, his work explores the identity and authenticity of movement through the poetic in absurd, social, emotional, and temporal subjects, materializing it in space and time.
