Dancer and choreographer Giovanni Zazzera (IT/L) trained at the Conservatoire de Danse du Luxembourg and obtained his Diplôme supérieur. He will continue his training in contemporary and classical dance in Brazil where he will be asked to work for various companies Cia. Ama de Amarildo Casiano, Cia. Fernando Lima".
He confirmed his experiences in depth by carrying out various internships and trainings abroad (Paris, New York and Tel-Aviv where he will follow an intensive training in dance «Gaga» with the Company Batsheva of Ohad Nahrim.)
Since 2010, he has performed regularly on the Luxembourg and Belgian scene working for various projects and companies. In 2013 he was awarded the Prix de Danse du Luxembourg for his many engagements.
a few years ago he created his own pieces as a choreographer and signed in 2013 his first creation entitled "IF I.." which will be presented at the 3CL-centre de création chorégraphique du luxembourg (L), at the E-motional Rethinking Dance festival in Bacau (Romania), as well as the LOFT for the LuxFestival in Leipzig (D).
Other pieces will follow like "Reverse", "Trust", "Secrets", "Quand le silence parle" and "Flowers grows, even in the sand", created and presented during the last edition of the IV emergences at the 3CL and which will later participate in various events and festivals such as the (TanzMainz Festival (D), Barnes Crossing Solo/Duo Festival 2016, Köln (D), Théâtre Transversales de Verdun (F), Théâtre Juarez Machado de Joinville (Brazil), Théâtre d'Esch, Théâtre de l'Abbaye de Neumünster, 3CL, Mierscher kulturhaus MKH, Cercle Cité (L). 2019, he participates in the choreography of "Draussen vor der Tür" produced by the Kulturlabor Trier (D) and creates his latest creation "Until you fall", presented at the MKH and the Théâtre d'Esch (L).
In 2015, Giovanni joined the «Blancontact» project, which is invested in the integration of dance with people with disabilities and collaborates with Thierry Raymond and Annick Pütz. In the same year, he collaborated in the choreographic direction for the piece "ART.13" and co-choreographed with Ela Baumann the young public piece "Fenrir de riese Wollef".
In 2020, he founded his own company Z ART Dance, where he is involved as a choreographer and artistic director of the company. Giovanni then worked on the pieces a "Credere", "Temporis" & "Out of Range", new choreographic creations that were presented in 2021 at the 3CL, Monolabo festival and the MKH (L) as well as at the TUFA Trier and the Europahalle de Trier (D). With the Lucoda collective, he is currently working on new projects such as "Choreochroma" and "DifferdanceDays" which will be dedicated to the cultural year of the capitals Esch2022 and Novi Sad 2022.
Active in the cultural field, he is a member of the board of directors of ASPRO, an association for the defense of artists in Luxembourg and participates in the co-founding of the new Luxembourg dance collective "LUCODA" in which he holds the post of Vice-president.
Giovanni regularly organizes courses and workshops in contemporary dance, contact dance and improvisation. Multidisciplinary, in his artistic approach, he aspires to explore the world of dance through sharing and message, thus mixing the human, the arts and their emotions.
