On 19 and 20 March, the Science Center welcomes three members of LUCODA for an original performance. In an enclosed space on the first floor of this emblematic science centre, dance and technology meet. Invited to enter a black box, the visitor, alone or in a group, is invited to experience the three spaces that make up this installation.

In this itinerant journey of discovery of technology and movement, the aim is to explore kinetic empathy, stimulate the body and make the audience aware of its capacities for movement by encouraging them to be active part of the process.

Each of the three spaces is linked to an artistic performance that offers multiple alternatives of an experience.  For example, exploration around the sensation of touch will give rise to a creation that focuses on the tactile. Thus, from the interaction between humans and technology, transformations of the space will emerge… To guide the journey of the audience through this installation, sound will appear from time to time, not only sound that will be created by the spectators themselves but also that of the soundtrack.

As this installation is open to all,  for the hearing impaired, there will be the possibility for them to use the "Immersive Live" waistcoats which, thanks to their vibrations connected to the sounds, offer accessibility to the music.

Put in a museum two choreographers, a dancer, a painter, two videographers and let infuse! The Choreochroma project is a laboratory between different media and artistic vision, starting with the painting by the major Serbian modern artist Sava Šumanović, Luncheon on the Grass. Encouraged by the two European Capitals of Culture, Esch and Novi Sad, the collaborative project has developed into a project of cultural creation and exchange, exploring the links between performing arts and painting. So begins a multimedia research work, mixing dance, painting, video, music and photography, questioning their relationship to time and space, their respective differences and similarities, to allow a common form of expression to emerge. The public will be invited to participate in a multidimensional experience, a choreographic performance that is at the same time sensory, auditory and visual, inviting to explore with a contemporary perspective the works of historical heritage.

DIFFERDANCEDAYS

DifferDanceDays 01 (c)Edward Steinchen.jpg

In collaboration with the commune of Differdange, Lucoda will create a variety of site specific performances, which will lead the audience on unexpected journeys through the commune.

Ranging from dance performances in bus stops, pop-up dance experiences, community dance workshops and multi sensorial explorations and discoveries at the Differdange Science Centre, to a grand ballroom dance evening, we share but a few of the exciting performances to expect.

Lucoda in “The Visit”, offers two worlds to the audience; both a performative approach, with site-specific pieces, to a multi-disciplinary and digital work, with the creation of a short film which will highlight different geographical locations in the South of Luxembourg. Hence, the audience will embark on a unique journey,  experiencing and being encouraged to discover new artistic perspectives, through the media of dance and film.
